EMPOWERING MASSES! (Click here for the clipping)

Over the past Few years, Mohan Deep, Hsein Sheng (Chinese tenn Jor Feng Shui Master), has earned For himself a reputation, which lures the rich and the mighty. His interesting past, which includes glamour journalism, literature and several books, and his brazen invitation to controversies (including a biography of Rekha and a play about the 'love child' of Jawaharlal Nehru), reveal several dimensions to this multifaceted personality. He has added a new dimension to Feng Shui with his paintings. 'I have always believed that life is what happens to you while you are busy making plans and I hear Him laughing when we talk of our plans." Mohan Deep, a pragmatist to the core, told Kaushik Deka of 4thD .

The following are excerpts from the interview:

4thD: How do Feag Shui paintings help?
Mohan Deep: Feng Shui is for enhancing and triggering the nine life comers viz. wealth and good fortune, fame and glory, marriage and relationships, elders and family, health, children and creativity, knowledge, career and opportunities and helpful friends. Various changes are made in the placement of things- keeping their elements in focus- to correct the flaws. Feng Shui products are placed in the required comers to boost energy. We energize these products to make them more effective. A Feng Shui painting by a Feng Shui master is naturally much more potent. Besides, this becomes a part of the decor like an aesthetically done mural.

4thD: How long have you been painting?
Mohan Deep:
During the mid-sixties. I studied architecture at the Academy of Architecture , Mumbai. I was exposed to the masters during those days. One would visit Jehangir Art Gallery and Pundole Art Gallery and the Art Society at Kala Ghoda. But I wanted to be a writer, which took me to literature and journalism. For me, painting is now like coming a full circle- via Feng Shui- and more satisfying as a creative process. $MEDIA-AUTORESP$

4thD: How did you get interested in Feng Shui?
Mohan Deep:
It was during 1993-94 when I was the editor of the Suvidha Express , a weekly (now defunct), that I wrote my first article on the subject. Few knew about Feng Shui at that time. Like most such things, Feng Shui was the exclusive preserve of the elite, the rich and the famous. The masses were not (made) aware of it. My learning process included research, extensive reading and learning from every available source. And then I wrote an in-depth book on the subject entitled, Feng Shui for the Bold & the Beautiful, the Rich & the Famous. I have also completed courses in Xuan Kong Feng Shui (Flying Star) and Applied Feng Shui from Master Cecil Lee of the oldest and largest authentic traditional Feng Shui center for applied Feng Shui research located in Singapore , besides minutely following the dictums of world-renowned Feng Shui authorities like Professor Lin Yun.

4thD: What are your future plans?
Mohan Deep: I don't really have any big plans for the future. I have always believed that life is what happens to you while you are busy making plans and I hear Him laughing when we talk of our plans.
